Who am I?

I am a community activist, wife and mother, and an attorney.  My husband and I have lived previously in Central Brisbane and now at the Ridge.  We moved to Brisbane in 2004, started our family here and are raising our 4-year old daughter and 1-year old son.

I love Brisbane’s sense of community, and over the years, I have been active in many local organizations.  As a proponent of protecting the environment, I have served on the City’s Open Space and Ecology Committee, the Brisbane Baylands Community Advisory Group (BBCAG), the Citizen’s Committee for the Baylands DEIR, and the Committee for Renewable Energy for the Baylands (CREBL).

I enjoy collaborating with my neighbors and serve on the Board of Directors of the Landmark at the Ridge Homeowners’ Association.

Because I care about our local business community, I have served on the Board of Directors of the Brisbane Chamber of Commerce and worked with other Board members to help strengthen Brisbane businesses.

As a proud member of the Mothers of Brisbane, I am actively involved in issues concerning Brisbane’s children.  My family and I strongly support the arts and music and we have contributed to both the Summer Concert Series and Live at Mission Blue.

Why am I running?

Crucial decisions for our City are coming up, especially concerning development of the Baylands.  This is our community’s opportunity to create a model of sustainability in Brisbane that fits the needs of our small-town community, and that provides us with economic benefits to help secure the City’s financial health.

I strongly support improving relationships within our community, especially between Central Brisbane and the Ridge.  We have a lot of common causes to rally around.

Why me?

My legal background will be helpful in negotiating the kind of Development Agreement for the Baylands that benefits our community.  My strong work ethic helps me deal with a lot of details.  I am an independent decision maker who can fairly evaluate issues while keeping in mind the priorities of our community.  I believe I can work well with our current City Council members.

Request

Brisbane is a gem of a community, and I hope to build upon it and make it an even better place to live and work.  Based on my track record and experience, I respectfully ask for your vote.
